In Washington, DC, a consortium of four schools is participating this year in “Making Across the Curriculum,” an initiative begun jointly by Washington International School and Project Zero, a research group at Harvard University. The 50 teachers involved--across grade levels and subject areas--apply maker-centered practices in their classroom and collaborate with one another in an effort to build agency in young people to act positively on their world. In this interactive session, participants will consider the complexities of making with adults, engage in a making activity to reflect on ourselves and our teams, and discuss a design approach to strategically composing a collaborative cohort.
