We believe in the power of young people to change the world. For many of us, that is why we became educators. This belief is central to many of our core missions and values. Yet acting on this philosophy is often easier said than done. Through this workshop we will model the entrepreneurial process - analyze, innovate, act, reflect - as we think creatively about how to carve out more spaces for social innovation on campus. We have found social entrepreneurship creates opportunities for students to engage with the social injustices and environmental challenges that anger them most.  But how can we most effectively build these conversations, and actions, into the culture of the school?  We will draw on LearnServe International's more than 15 years of meaningfully bringing students together across difference through social entrepreneurship.  We work with a network of more than 40 high schools and middle schools in the DC metro area, representing all school types.  If you share our belief in the power of young people to change the world -- and are eager to identify more opportunities to coach them through that process -- we hope you will join us.
