Founder, Director
Evan Ehlers is the Founder and Executive Director of Sharing Excess; a movement of students fighting food insecurity both on campus and in the community. In just over 12 months, his nonprofit has delivered more than 115,000 LBS of excess food from grocery stores and restaurants to a network of over 25 hunger relief organizations throughout Philadelphia. Sharing Excess also partners with universities to prevent student food insecurity with meal swipe donation programs and food scholarships.

Evan is a recent graduate of Drexel University, where he studied Entrepreneurship and Innovation, founded his nonprofit, and was later honored as Drexel's 2019 Student of the Year. His work has been featured in numerous publications both locally and nationally, and he now Co-Chair's Philadelphia's Zero Waste - Food Policy Advisory Council.
